About the Author

Jackson was born in Calgary, Alberta but soon moved to Edmonton at age 3. He spent most of his upbringing reading and writing random stories that came to mind, wanting to one day author a book of his own. He bases his inspiration off five individuals who sparked his curiosity in the literary world; Ryu Murakami, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan and Osamu Dazai. He self-published his first collection of poetry named “Poetry in a halfshell,” a play on words for his indigenous heritage and a fun nod towards the ninja turtles. He decided to take a shot to publish under a company and soon found one quickly. He is working on a third collection at the moment titled “Songs from a monkey’s violin” which plays off the theory of Shakespeare being written by an infinite amount of monkeys. He hopes to publish publicly again soon.
